Old World Buffet Painted with Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue

I scored this great buffet at an estate sale.  I chose Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue after refinishing and distressing the piece.  I have a similar one to custom paint after I sell this one.  Click here:  Annie Sloan Duck egg Blue

Hi Jessica,  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I had to find some pictures for you so here they are.  I think I have some boards left in the garage that I did not do yet.  When we redid the kitchen, we eliminated the soffit so I have they boards left.  Maybe I should do a tutorial.  In the meantime I will look for more photos of the restoration.  We took each board off and numbered it and then stripped and applied a white stain and then finished with 2 coats of tung oil.

Lake House Knotty Pine Paneling Restoration

Here are some after pictures of the paneling restoration.  Each of these boards was removed, numbered, stripped and sanded.  A white stain was added and completed with two coats of tung oil.  The cabin is in a wooded area and the original orange paneling seemed to darken the house.  We decided to refinish it in an updated bright finish.  In the corner is a shelf made from a rescued door.

Lake House Kitchen Remodel

I am finally getting around to posting some pictures of the lake house kitchen redo.  We added a wall of hickory cabinets from Lowes as we were unsuccessful in finding additional metal ones.  I will post the restored metal ones later.

Wall Cornice Makeover

During the clean out phase of our cabin restoration we found these cornices in the crawl space.  Aside from being very dirty, they were in good condition.  So home they went for a makeover.  We added an applique and gave them a fresh coat of paint.  A plate rail was added so it can be used as a shelf.  I sold three of these and this is the last one that has been finished.  The finished one is larger than the one pictured.

Additional Buffet Picture

Here is a close up of the leg restoration.

Cabin Restoration

We bought this cabin in August and are currently restoring it to 1960's era.  We have taken down the knotty pine boards, stripped, sanded, and added a white stain to let the wood show through.  The cabin does not receive a lot of light so we wanted to brighten up the place.  Stay tuned for some after photos
